Game Reserve development commencing 2016 and ongoing
Survey and evaluation of the potential for the establishment of an extensive private game reserve in the Adamawa province of Eastern Nigeria. Particular challenges included the security situation with Jihadist attacks in the area, our safety was ensured by a platoon of a local specialist police unit. The area is currently farmed by the nomadic Fulani tribe who cultivate crop-lands and graze livestock wherever they want to temporarily settle. We prepared a basic plan for the establishment of the game reserve including the aspects of habitat restoration, wildlife introduction, infrastructural requirements and security.
