2020 – 2022 Landowner involvement and landscape corridor development
Survey and establishment of landscape corridors with the Gouritz river as a central focal area. The project included extension work with the local farmers and setting up farmer co-operation areas, identification of wetland corridors, the control of invasive alien vegetation in the corridors, soil erosion control and river bank stabilization, establishment of fixed photo points throughout the area, biodiversity surveys, recommendations for fire management and riverine habitat restoration.
