Senegal Game Reserve

Development commencing 2022 and ongoing

Site evaluation and suitability determination for the development of a game reserve for tourism as part of a coastal hotel tourist package. Phase 1 consisted of the site visit to find out what the biodiversity of the site consists of and what its potential is for relatively intense tourist use. A preliminary plan report was submitted outlining the management needs and the potential of the site for a range of tourist activities. Phase two will follow to finalize the evaluation and produce a formal long-term management plan. Particular challenges for the management of the proposed area include high rainfall, which will compromise year-round accessibility, local wood over-harvesting and a severely advanced infestation of the alien invasive Prosopis trees.
